Swine Production Manager Trainee

SUMMARY
The primary purpose of the Manager Trainee Program is to develop the qualities and skills needed to manage the daily operations of the gestation/farrowing, sow farm, and/or finishing contract production departments. This will be achieved through implementing Country View Family Farms established production criteria and a series of seminars dealing with topics ranging from leadership to conflict resolution.
Technical Certification
Complete sow farm administrative certification and demonstrate on farm proficiency (Level 1 and 2)
Complete sow farm bio-security certification and demonstrate on farm proficiency (Level 1 and 2)
Complete sow farm general operations certification and demonstrate on farm proficiency (Level 1 and 2)
Complete sow farm pre-natal certification and demonstrate on farm proficiency (Level 1 and 2)
Complete sow farm maternity certification and demonstrate on farm proficiency (Level 1 and 2)
Complete animal handling certification and demonstrate on farm proficiency (Level 1 and 2)
Complete herd health certification and demonstrate on farm proficiency (Level 1 and 2)
Complete grower developer unit certification and demonstrate on farm proficiency (Level 1 and 2)
Production Training
Complete and communicate monthly progress report
Complete MT Checklist with on farm trainer
Train with Nursery/Finishing Service
Complete Continuous Improvement training
Complete Continuous Improvement project
Assume leadership roles for specific delegated tasks (farm)
Assume additional responsibilities as delegated (farm)
Complete facilities management training
Complete herd health training with staff vet
Administrative Training
Assume leadership roles for specific delegated tasks (office)
Assume additional responsibilities as delegated (office)
Complete training in harvest process and pork sales
Complete genetics training
Complete nutrition training
Complete logistics training
Complete finance training
Complete growth and development training
Complete procurement training
Leadership Development
Assist in recruitment as needed by attending career fairs
Observe management during coaching, training, development and disciplinary opportunities
Complete team member supervision training

Attend quarterly Lead Meetings
Participate in task forces or committee meetings
Participate in monthly training meetings
RequirementsSUPERVISOR RESPONSIBILITIES
He/she will not be responsible for any team members until after completing the Manager Trainee program and placed in a position.

EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE
Prefer a Bachelors Degree in an agricultural related field or minimum of 3 years swine industry experience or 3 years of leadership experience. Associates degree in a related agricultural field is acceptable.
LANGUAGE SKILLS
Ability to communicate both verbally and written in English.
REASONING ABILITY
Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
